There is a tradition in Japan for sending postcards on New Year's. This is a hand carved wooden stamp to make a handmade New Year's postcard or a postcard for any reason.
It is double sided- both sides have oranges on them-one side shows whole oranges and the other side shows pieces of them.
It is from the "昭和" "showa period". The "showa" period is from 1926-1989 but we believe it is from the1980's.
