This hand fan is an Uchiwa paper paddle fan. There is a gorgeous image of Shishimai Lion dance - It is an act by a street performer. He wears a lion mask on his head and dances in the festival during Chinese new year. There are also cute kids around him. The painting is by Ikuta Kachojyo 生田花朝女 via Kacho 花朝 1889-1978. On the back, 四天王寺 means Shitennō-ji - a Buddhist temple in Osaka, Japan. The handle is made of bamboo. It is perfect for making a breeze to keep cool in hot summer. It is about 41.5 cm long and about 29 cm wide.
