The past week, I’ve been trying my hand at making votive soy candles. I made them scented since people often ask me which of my candles are scented when they view them. I’ve gone with vanilla, orange and peppermint to start with, with thoughts about making lavender, lemon and cinnamon votive candles in the future.

What I’m really pleased about though is that my first batch of Christmas themed candles is made. I’ve decided to make a green and red chunk candle, since these colours seem to shout that it’s Christmas time. I have to admit these did take me a bit longer than expected to make. I forgot how much dye I normally use to make the coloured chunks so I ended up adding too little dye…..twice! Thank goodness had the proper amount needed wrote down in my candle recipe book.
