These earrings are based on a tube bail design I did, but flipped upside down and miniaturized for earrings. I added little hammered loops at the bases for dangling beads.
First I transferred a gorgeous digital damask design from Aesthetic Addictions to my metal using a toner-based resist system, and after etching I added all the little holes and tube rivets and formed them into these little handbag shapes. The flowers in the pattern made me think of a gypsy caravan, so I went wild with color! I hung glowing amber and peridot from the bottom, and decorated the earwires with little iolite coins.
