The delicate pink of the roses blends well with the hand-felted background of this embroidered pendant.The flowers are embroidered in a variety of cotton threads. The roses in the foreground, are embroidered in ribbons. Naturally died silk and mohair fibres are combined with merino wool, in the felt which forms the background to this pendant.
The pendant is formed over a recycled plastic bottle top. A narrow ribbon is used to form the hanging loop. A space-dyed, loosely spun yarn, in shades of green, pinks and heather is bound round the edge of the pandant to frame the design. The pendant is suspended on a length of hand-made cord, made from cotton crochet threads in colours carefully chosen to match the embroidery. The pendant fastens by knotting the cord.
