Embroidered in relief, against a felted background, this daffodil is a typical emblem of spring and the brooch would make a lovely Mothers Day gift.

Various yarns and wools are felted to a commercial felt background using an embellisher machine. The daffodil petals and leaves are embroidered in merino yarns and the piece is felted again. The daffodil trumpet is stitched in relief giving the brooch a lovely 3D appearance. The design is edged in blanket stitch in green cotton.
