I used a natural linen base which I had interfaced. I gathered together a selection of vintage and new fabrics and lace that were in shades of purple. Some of the fabrics had been hand-dyed and had former lives as armchair covers, doilies or tray cloths.
When I was happy with the arrangement, I stitched around the fabric and lace using a zigzag stitch. I added a little more lace with the aim of making it a textured surface. Then finally, I hand stitched one purple guipure lace flower, two large lace flowers and seven pearl buttons to the front to complete the look. I bound the linen cover to the hardback A6 sized book.
