This listing is for patterns for you to knit your own Tavistock Tortoise. The patterns include instructions and lots of photos to help you. You can choose whether to make the tortoise with long floppy legs, or short stumpy legs. Both styles are included in the pattern.

The pattern is written so it is easier for beginners to follow. You will need to be able to do the following stitches/techniques: knit, purl, casting on and off, sewing seams, increases and decreases, and changing colours (knitting stripes).
