Hand painted alpaca and silk, luxury yarn - variegated lavender blue The base yarn for this luxury product is a soft, fine laceweight, 70% baby alpaca and 30% mulberry silk. It is whisper soft. Each skein contains around 400 metres - please see photo against 1 inch measure for accurate gauge. I dyed this one by hand painting it with very light touches of lavender and steel grey, then overdying with pale blue. This has achieved an overall very subtly variegated effect.
