Embroidered and Felted Wall Art Nicholaston by Lynwoodcrafts

Shared by Lynwoodcrafts in the Fabric Crafts

Product Description:

A pretty, felted and embroidered sea view decorates this miniature wall plaque. The view is inspired by Great Tor at the boundary between Nicholaston Burrows and Three Cliffs Bay, Gower.

The background of this plaque has been created by felting an assortment of hand dyed fibers to a fleece fabric background, using an embellisher machine. Details of the composition have been added by hand embroidery. The gorse and daisies in the foreground are stitched in cotton threads.

Couching, over a slubbed yarn, in shades of blue and green, frames the design.

The plaque is stiffened by several layers of plastic, cut from a recycled bottle, over which the embroidered fleece is stretched. The back of the plaque is neatened with commercial felt and a hanging loop, of button-hole stitch in cotton, is securely stitched in place.
