Product Description:

Xray of a Tulip- encaustic beeswax art

This painting was created by layering white encaustic paint to form the shape of the tulips petals, stem and leaves. Once layers were fused together, purple encaustic paint was then layered over the entire surface in several applications. Again fused together before tooling and scraping to reveal the final image. Once completed, I saw what would resemble an Xray image.

5 x 7 painting is framed and ready to hang.

Created with Beeswax
What is Encaustic: Encaustic is a mixture of beeswax, damar resin, pigments and other mediums. The painted wax layers are fused and buffed to create a unique textured image. Ranges of styles and techniques for encaustic paintings are endless. The possibilities for luminous color, variety of texture and depth are quite limitless.
