I feel color. I know that may sound odd. I will suddenly be overcome with a color or a texture, and then I have to find a way to express it. The other day I started thinking about a deep orange wool. I could feel it in my blood. After about a day of this, maybe it wasn't that long, I headed to the yarn store. I knew I had to make pumpkins!
This is what I came up with. I hand knit this pumpkin in cozy Malabrigo wool yarn, in a pattern I developed as I worked. It is about 3 1/2 inches across and 3 inches from the top of the crocheted stem to the bottom of the pumpkin. I stuffed it with locally sourced, natural wool roving.
