Kashigata is used in the making of wagashi (nama-gashi or freshly made cake and hi-gashi or dried confectionery) for tea ceremonies.

It measures 25.5 cm long x 7.8 cm wide x 4 cm tall. Inside it measures 8 cm long x 5.3 cm wide each.
