*The sweetgrass mixed donut earrings are handmade with sweetgrass, long leaf pine needles, and palmetto strips. This earring can be made in three differnt sizes: Small ( 1 ¼ - 1 ½ inches wide), Medium ( 2 – 2 ¼ inches wide), and Large ( 2 ¾ - 3 inches wide.The sweetgrass can be found in the marsh in most coastal areas of South Carolina and Georgia. Sweetgrass baskets can be found in Charleston, SC and has many different styles and types. The normal sweetgrass baskets are much bigger than this earring. I made the earring to represent the "well-known" Charleston craft of weaving sweetgrass baskets. Weaving Sweetgrass baskets is one of the oldest African crafts in the US.
