What a pretty lavender bag! What a pretty little gift it would make when a card is not enough but you don't want to give a big present.I have made this lavender bag from scraps and recycled materials. It has a deep pink satin ribbon threaded through a strip of vintage lace, a print of a butterfly and two mother of pearl buttons. Across the centre is a printed Happy Birthday. At the bottom is a rose from a crochet doily. The back is plain lavender fine cotton. It measures about 4 inches square.
I have filled it with English lavender - not too tightly so it can be rubbed to release the fragrance. It has a pink gauze ribbon at the top so that it can be hung on a drawer or door handle. It could be slipped into a drawer or cupboard to scent clean linen or kept with knitting or in a sewing box to keep yarns and fabrics fresh.
