Product Description:
The bright red of the poppies contrasts with the hand-felted, corn field background of this embroidered brooch.The flowers are embroidered in a variety of cotton threads. Daisies are suggested by French knots, as are distant poppies. Ears of corn, and the poppies in the foreground, are embroidered in ribbons. Naturally died silk and mohair fibres are combined with merino wool, in the felt which forms the background to this brooch.
The brooch is stiffened with plastic cut from a recycled bottle. A space-dyed, loosely spun wool, in green shades is bound round the edge of the brooch to frame the design.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
