Transparent enamel in lime green and aqua accent this sterling silver ring with a delicate twining, organic design in a size 8 1/2.I created the ring in wax and cast it using the lost wax casting process. This involves pouring a plaster mixture around the ring in a flask, letting it dry and burning the wax out of the mold in a kiln.
This leaves a void in the mold. The mold is put in a machine that melts the silver and hurls the metal into the mold by centrifugal force.
Once I've done the casting, I sand and polish the ring and get it ready for enameling in another smaller kiln. I use only the best vitreous glass enamel in my rings.
