This is a hollowed out hardcover book that has a compartment inside to store valuables or just about anything even a monkey!

The pages have been cut out and the remaining pages glued together with the final compartment unlined for a rustic look.

The book is titled "In the Shadow of Man" copyright 1971 with 297 pages.

This would make a great jewelry box or groomsmen gift, just fill with a flask or small bottles of your favorite beverage!! Also a great gift for the anthropologist in your life! Or a monkey enthusiast.
