I have been making miniature bears since 1982 - originally they were to fit inside Mama Bears pocket of my Topsy-Turvy doll "Goldilocks". Then my oldest daughter asked me to make one out of calico for a friends gift. A friend asked me to make some out of her bridesmaids fabric for gifts - soon I was making bears out of all my quilting calico's!

This little purple bear is about 3.5" tall sitting down, which he can do nicely on his own. This little guy took about four hours to make - when I am in full baby bear mode, my room is surrounded by little legs and arms and torso's. these are so much fun to make - the pattern is the same, but they all come out different, depending on how the fabric stretches when stuffing.
