Product Description:

4 X 4 Original Art. Birds fly and rest on a wire while enjoying the day. Displays beautifully on a mini easel. Signed on back.

What is Encaustic: Encaustic is a mixture of beeswax, damar resin, pigments and other mediums. The painted wax layers are fused and buffed to create a unique textured image. Ranges of styles and techniques for encaustic paintings are endless. The possibilities for luminous color, variety of texture and depth are quite limitless.

Beeswax and Damar Resin is melted to it's liquid form and painted (about 6 - 8 layers) each onto a claybord base. Images can be carved into layers of wax and filled with pigmented wax, applied and melted into various blends and contrasts or painted in detail. Encaustics is fun and exciting with surprises each time I sit in front of a pallet of melting encaustic medium.
