Product Description:

One of my personal favorites. The grape leaves and vines were carved into the beeswax layers, filled, molded and scraped while the grapes pop out creating amazing depth. The deep brown background enhanced the greens and yellows embedded into the image.

What is Encaustic: Encaustic is a mixture of beeswax, damar resin, pigments and other mediums. The painted wax layers are fused and buffed to create a unique textured image. Ranges of styles and techniques for encaustic paintings are endless. The possibilities for luminous color, variety of texture and depth are quite limitless.
