One of my old books fell apart at the spine, and I wanted to preserve it, though in an unconventional way. Thus, I'm making lots of unique jewelry out of it!This is a quilled flower brooch is made to order from the lacquered paper of the book. It has multiple coatings of paper glaze so its much stronger than it looks. A pretty cream pearl sits in the center, (although you can choose a gold, pink or maroon one if you want) and the flower is mounted on black acrylic felt before being attached to the brooch pin. At the widest, it measures around 2" in diameter. I am happy to make it bigger or smaller.
Looks beautiful on a jacket lapel!
