Product Description:

ACEO's are "Art Cards, Editions and Originals". These cards have one main rule - they are 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches - the size of a trading card. This is a one of a kind original painting signed and title on back.

Painted on a composite wood base, at least 8 layers of encaustic paint (beeswax & resin) are fused together to create the background, then the roses, leaves and stems are carved and paint fills in the void. Once hardened, the painting is scraped to uncover the image you see here.

What is Encaustic: Encaustic is a mixture of beeswax, damar resin, pigments and other mediums. The painted wax layers are fused and buffed to create a unique textured image. Ranges of styles and techniques for encaustic paintings are endless. The possibilities for luminous color, variety of texture and depth are quite limitless.
