Retro Style robot made from wood! With sabre sword and rifle, this science fiction sculpture or figure has many details, see below...As a fan of Hans Christian Andersen and Christmas, a time when this fable of his comes out in so many artistic forms, I thought I would add mine. Here is the Steadfast Tin Soldier as he would be in my alternate universe world of robots. Standing tall and at attention on his own little base in red uniform, dark blue hat and gold detailing (the crossed bands on his uniform are raised wood) he is holding his trusty ray gun musket while at his side is a saber sword. Take a closer look at the rifle... I put so much detail to it and shape wise... it's actually in correct, life-like scale, with scope even and bayonet!
This figure is part of my Retro Tech line of fun and detailed, often realistic machinery and the like made mostly, often solely out of the most unlikely of materials for this sort of geekery item ... good, old fashioned Earth wood! They have both a neat look and feel, sort of like an old world toy. Made almost 100% from wood (I sometimes use tiny, tiny amounts of other things) I then use paint and many finishes, often metallic, and make sure a lot of details shine through, often even the wood grain itself despite the high tech themes. They maintain an often retro, sometimes even rustic look. It comes complete as shown with plenty of fine details.
This creation is about 6" high including the gun, roughly 5" tall for the soldier himself, about 2 1/2" deep including the sword, and the base (which MAY vary form the photo in style) about 2" wide (remember, 2 1/2 centimeters to an inch). You get 1 item here as usually shown in the main photos(s) (I sometimes include pics that show other styles as well).
